Though a handful of racers were still tricking in shortly after 3 p.m., 283 teams had registered for Best in the Desert’s Vegas to Reno, “The Long Way” race. Tech and contingency was today, and tomorrow morning marks the start of the race, with the first motorcycle leaving the line at 5:45 a.m. The first professional truck leaves the line at 9:30 a.m., and this year that will be Andrew McMillin who posted the fastest qualifying time. The first day of the race will kick off in Beatty, running a total of 332 miles through the desert finishing in Tonopah. The second day will cover 367 miles, taking off from Tonopah and running up to Hawthorne. The final day of the race, for those still running, will cover 297 miles from Hawthorne to Dayton, just outside of Reno. Below is a breakdown of the top 15 fastest qualifiers.
