The entire course was extremely whooped out.
    • Speedworld Night Helmet Cam

    • You can see here just how hard it is to know where you are going at Speedworld MX night riding. A lot of really dark sections. When you get a little mud on the goggles, its nearly impossible to see.

    • 1 Hour MRAN Grand Prix at the Boulder City MX track just outside of Vegas. Footage brought to you by Spectro Fluids. Cool track. Not very many quads showed up unfortunately. The camera got kind of covered in mud early on so its tough to see, but still gives you an idea.

    • Resourceful

    • You have to be resourceful sometimes to get parts off the quad. Here im using a massive crescent wrench, a big screw driver, and the leg from a table as a breaker bar to get this axle nut off. The factory installs plenty of green loc-tite that is hard to break!

    • YFZ450R Tuning Upgrade

    • This is a very simple upgrade, slightly expensive, but a very important modification for any Fuel Injection quad. When you start making changes like adding an exhaust, modifying the air box for a new filter, and especially changing up the motor you have to change the air/fuel ratio. I am running the DynoJet PCV Powercommander. They also have a PC3, but the 3 has a lot less adjusment available for it. If you want to make sure that you are running the optimum ratio, or you like to play around with your fuel injection to change how it runs, get the PCV. Most of the major exhaust companies will have a map for their specific exhaust that you can download to your programmer. Dynojet also has a set of maps that you will get on a CD with your programmer, and can also download more from their website. I am currently running a custom map for my modifications. When tuned just right I was able to get 3-4 more HP from my quad. But dont trust just anyone to do this for you. Many people can tune your quad for you to get max HP, but you could be putting your motor in serious danger. I could get more power from my programming, but Im running a safe fuel to air ratio. You can see I have a bag over the programmer. You DO NOT EVER want to get water in it. Water can ruin your programmer pretty easily. Always cover it somewhow when washing your quad, and if you ride XC races, leave it covered permanetly. Mine stays covered in the bag, and it also gets foam packed around in so it doesnt move around, and the foam soaks up water..
    • ProTaper Bars

    • The bars first off are quality PRO-TAPER brand flexible bars and these will also reduce fatigue from the typical steel non-flexible predecessors. The bars are adjustable with four positions actually being found in the eccentric clamps and the location of the mounting of the clamps themselves. Being able to move the bars and not change the feel of the steering is a plus for larger riders. First Ride story by Off-Road.com - read it here

    • YFZ450X Sitting Pretty

    • The overall size would be a most noticeable difference at first glance. The width of the front as well as the rear gives this machine a compact figure. Shortening the front arms to 395.2 and cutting the rear axle by 50mm in length gives this YFZ450X the ability to squeeze into the tightest woods courses. The suspension has had a major overhaul to improve its trail-ability as well. Getting the width down was a concern of the Yamaha engineers and this would be the first of many here in the swings of the YFZ450X. First Ride story by Off-Road.com - read it here

    • Yamaha YFZ450X

    • Starting with the same great engine in its R-rated sibling, the “X” model will get a remapped fuel-delivery, bringing the engine under control for tight woods and XC racing in general. This engine has the five Titanium valve head and dual-overhead cams that make explosive yet controllable bottom- and mid-range power to propel the beast into the woods. Being a single-cylinder and liquid-cooled, this four-stroke brings a knockout punch to the competition without sacrificing durability. The fuel is fed to the throat of this engine by a 42mm Mikuni throttle body and it is atomized into the cylinder by the Denso 12 hole injector. What does this mean for the rider? Extreme pucker-factor has been achieved right off the showroom floor! First Ride story by Off-Road.com - read it here

    • Front Suspension Install

    • The next step on my build of a Pro WORCS race quad. The front end. The A-Arms Im using are Teixeira Tech Long-Travel Extra-Ground-Clearance. The A-arms are just slightly wider than the stock ones so that a different offset wheel can be run. This setup is also a +1 forward. Teixeira Tech also provides the extended tie-rods. I've done all the testing for the design on these a-arms and they work great! Attached to them is a set of Fox Shox Evol Floats with DSC. These shocks are designed specifically for these a-arm measurments and are on file so they can be valved for anyone else with this setup. Also shown in the picture is a new AC Racing front bumper. Not only does it improve the looks, but the YFZ450R's radiator has a slight problem with protection so this helps that problem greatly. Another important piece on the front of this quad is a set of DWT Yellow Label Beadlock front wheels with a pair of Maxxis 21" Razr2's. What you can't see is that inside the tires is the all important XC Tireballs. The Razr2 is a tougher tire than the Razr so you are less likely to get a flat, but when running in the top 10 of a WORCS race you don't have time to change a tire because of a flat.
